In an interesting and surprisingly counterproductive move the Americans let Netanyahu spout his wildly offensive, extremist right-wing propaganda to a cheering Congress this week. I sincerely hope they think it was worth it, because I'm pretty sure they just lost the last, very tenuous remnant of respect they could still drum up in the Arab world. And this at a point when the region may finally be moving towards freedom and democracy in a real, substantial way.
