My colleague/sister and I had been invited to speak to a group of kids at a local high school's career day about our small company. I was nervous before, as you are if you are me, but when we began talking all that went away and I started to enjoy myself instead.
I don't know if I've ever felt so competent in my life. It was a heady feeling, possibly addictive, and I'm pretty sure I will do it again. Though I can't even say what a surprise that is. Public speaking has always rated high on my hate-list.
